Industrial Control

  • Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWANs) have recently emerged as appealing communication systems in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Particularly, they proved effective in typical IoT applications such as environmental monitoring and smart metering. Such networks, however, have a great potential also in the industrial scenario and, hence, in the context of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), which represents a dramatically growing field of application.
  • we focus on a specific LPWAN, namely, LoRaWAN, and provide an assessment of its performance for typical IIoT employments such as those represented by indoor industrial monitoring applications.
  • In detail, after a general description of LoRaWAN, we discuss how to set some of its parameters in order to achieve the best performance in the considered industrial scenario. Subsequently we present the outcomes of a performance assessment, based on realistic simulations, aimed at evaluating the behavior of LoRaWAN for industrial monitoring applications.
  • The obtained results confirm that LoRaWAN can be considered as a strongly viable opportunity, since it is able to provide high reliability and timeliness, while ensuring very low energy consumption.

Our optimised solution toolkit consists of:

  • Sensor:Performing the role of data collection is mounted onto the machine needed to be assessed. Due to its small size, it can be placed in locations where it is difficult to collected manually.
  • Node: The sensor id connected to the node. Its plays the role of connecting the physical world to the internet. It sends and receives data wirelessly from the gateway.
  • Gateway: Acts as the bridge/path connecting the end devices to the internet. The gateway receives data from the nodes and sends it to the network server.

Our web-based, easy-to-use diagnosis software being infinitely scalable, provide you with insights to plants of all sizes, be it a hand-full or thousands of deployed sensors. Its web -based nature allows easy access for anywhere and updates are automatically rolled to minimize downtime and maximize value. With clear visualization in easy-to-read format, there is no longer need for a reliability engineer to understand and take actions accordingly.

At Joining Objects, team of expert engineers trained to understand business objectives, provide optimized solutions to support your manufacturing operations. From optimized solution planning to machine health optimization guidance, we got you covered.
